Course objectives
At the end of tuition students can deal with technical terminology of the subject and they are able to determine partial disciplines with the help of definitions. Students can apply gained principles of classification of vocabulary while analyzing texts on lexical level.
Syllabus
  • subject of the field and partial disciplines of lexicology lexeme, its definition, denotative and conotative meanings typology of meaning changes onomasiology and semasiology, their application in lexicography polysemy and its sources, metaphor and metonymy syntagmatic and paradigmatic relationships in word-stock homonyms, synonyms, antonyms, hyperonyms, hyponyms and kohyponyms theme rows, theory of word fields
