- Course objectives
- The goal is to handle simple cases of bars and beam design elements and their assessment with respect to the most common limit states. Get an idea of the possibilities of contemporary theoretical and experimental investigation of stress and deformation of mechanical structures, the nodes and components. Engineering Mechanics Course in itself also includes both the kinematics (ie the doctrine of planetary motion, regardless of the forces that caused it) and dynamic (ie, the doctrine of the relationship between operating forces and movements of objects). In addressing the kinematics of the relationship between kinematic variables, namely the location in space, speed, acceleration, angular velocity and angular acceleration of the basic model elements - point rigid body, rigid body system. The dynamics includes dynamics of a particle, dynamics of systems of particles, dynamics of rigid body and systems of rigid bodies. The solution is carried out both on the basis of Newton's laws (vector mechanics) and variational principles (Analytical Mechanics).
