Course objectives
• to experience teaching English as a foreign language in Czech schools • to compare different teaching approaches and methods • to observe lessons with a specific focus and learn from the findings • to plan, teach and reflect on the lessons
Syllabus
  • The number of lessons and observations will be negotiated with each Erasmus student individually based on their current teaching experience and needs. Maximum number of observations is ten and maxim number of taught lessons is five. Each student should prepare suggestions for their teaching programme prior to the meeting with the teaching practice coordinator.

Assessment methods
Before teaching practice: the student has to prepare a tentative teaching practice plan which should include the teaching experience so far, personal aims of the teaching practice in the Czech Republic and the number of observations and teaching lessons. Required materials after teaching practice: lesson plans (written before the lessons!), can be typed or handwritten + handwritten comments added after the lessons. Report from observations (1000 words).
