Course objectives
Practice exercise to the knowledge from lectures Bi2BP_NPP1 Neživá příroda 1. The students will be able to determine rock-forming minerals and basic rocks. The essential principles used for mineral and rocks determination will be demonstrate on the examples.
Syllabus
  • Introduce to the mineralogy 1. symmetry elements and their finding on crystals 2. crystal systems and relationships between morphology and structure of crystals 3. practice exhibition of physical properties of minerals 4. optical properties of minerls and polarising microscope 5. practice exhibition of rock forming minerals Introduce to the petrology 1. classification and exhibition of igneous rocks 2. classification and exhibition of sedimentary rocks 3. classification and exhibition of metamorphic rocks

Credit is given under the next conditions: 1. 100 % presence with possibility the substitution in the same day 2. 60 % success in three tests 3. practice identification of rocks and mineral samples
