- Course objectives
- Students will be able to transcribe basic words and phrases, to read transcription and to pronounce sounds in native-like way. Students are also trained to transcribe heard and seen text, and to enhance their ability to transfer our classroom materials to the primary school environment. Learning how "to practise self-study" is a crucial part of this course. Throughout the semester students are encouraged to link theory in the classroom to practice at schools via practical tasks.

- Topics: 1. Phonemic chart 2. Vowels 3. Diphthongs 4. Consonants 5. Word stress 6. Linking 7. Poems and how to prepare reading these 8. Jazz Chants and how to create them 9. Children´s books and how to prepare reading these 10. How to transfer our classroom materials to the primary school environment
- Teaching methods
- Pairwork and group work, homestudy, drills, individual projects, one-to-one consultations, observations.
- Assessment methods
- Requirements: Oral and written credit test (70% pass mark). Active participation includes: 3 one-to-one consultations; homework throughout the semester; reading - a children´s book.
