Course objectives
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to teach the student to understand the lexical aspect of Czech and to explain the meaning relations in the vocabulary; use information on   lexicon to   text analysis; to make reasoned decisions in the field of word creation; on the basis of acquired knowledge, also to deduce unknown contexts; interpret word-formation phenomena.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able to understand the Czech lexical and semantic relations explained in the vocabulary; use the information to analyze the vocabulary of the text; submit a reasoned decision on the formation of words; on the basis of acquired knowledge to derive and unknown context; interpret the phenomena of word formation.
Syllabus
  • This subject includes the lexicology of Czech language. Criteria of vocabulary division. Lexical analysis. Basic word-forming procedures, categories and types. Word-forming analysis. Analysis of the Word structure.

Teaching methods
Lectures, class discussion, group and individual projects, presentations by professionals in the sectors, homework.
Assessment methods
Private Projects, written test (the test consists of 10 - 20 questions, 50% of correct answers is needed), oral exam by the outcome of a test.
