- Course objectives
- The main objectives of the course are the following:
understanding principles of regulation at the individual levels of organism;
determination positives and hazards of inducements the regulatory function of organism;
cognition of various function aspects of immune system and its affecting possibilities in connection with the health;
understanding function and signification of vitamins and mierals operation in organism at molecular level;
determination of hazards connected with vitamins and minerals supplements overdosing;
usage the knovledge of organ-systems fumction mechanisms in light of healthful style of life;
understanding the main carcinogenic inductive factors;
usage cnowledge of carcinogenesis mechanism for prevention of carcinomas rise in practical life;
usage cnowledge of chemism the drugs activity for responsible treatment with them;
comprehension the action of environmental factors at overall health state of organism during its life; - Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course the student will be able to:
Understanding the principles of regulation at various levels of the body;
defining the positives and risks of affecting the functions of the regulatory mechanisms of the organism;
understanding the various aspects of the immune system's function and its health implications;
Understanding the function and significance of the action of vitamins and selected minerals in the organism at the molecular level;
Determining the risks associated with overuse of vitamin and mineral supplements;
utilization of mechanisms of function of organ systems in practical life from a healthy lifestyle perspective;
knowledge of the main factors causing or contributing to the induction of cancerous diseases;
the use of knowledge of carcinogenicity mechanisms in practical life to prevent the development of cancerous diseases;
using the knowledge of the chemistry of pharmaceuticals to handle these substances responsibly;
