Course objectives
The concept of the course is practical exercises on the morphology of the Russian language. Exercises in their content are related to the courses Russian Morphology 1 (RJ1003) and Russian Morphology 1 - Seminar (RJ1054). Students are expected to work individual with the texts and task groups provided.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to:
- transfer the theoretical knowledge from Russian Grammar into practice;
- analyze the text and identify the phenomena of Russian morphology;
- to compare the morphological system of Russian and Czech;
- use the lessons learned to correctly create Russian sentences.
Syllabus
  • 1. Basic linguistic terms. Lexical-grammatical categories of nouns.
  • 2. Nouns. Russian nouns in comparison to Czech nouns.
  • 3. Declension of masculine nouns (завод/автомобиль), feminine nouns (школа/неделя), neuter nouns (слово/воскресенье/собрание).
  • 4. Declension of nouns ending -ий, -ие, -ия. Declension of feminine nouns with a soft consonant at the end (type площадь).
  • 5. Irregular declension of nouns (номер/стул/муж). Declension of nouns время, пражанин, мать, дочь. Declension of Russian and foreign surnames.
  • 6. Categories and types of adjectives. Hard and soft stems of adjectives.
  • 7. Comparison of adjectives.
  • 8. Short forms of adjectives.
  • 9. Accent and orthography of adjectives.
  • 10. Declension of personal and possessive pronouns.
  • 11. Negative pronouns.
  • 12. Revision and summary.
