- Students
will participate in discussions about topics in question (special focus will be paid to topics dealing with education);
will acquire new knowledge including relevant terminology pertaining to educational reality both in spoken and written discourse;
will work around basic principles of English language teaching and talk about them with a great degree of fluency;
will share with other students their teaching experince and analyse teaching situations using relevant terminology;
will reflect on their own foreign language learning. - Learning outcomes

- 1. Building a learning community of students. Dealing with academic texts.
- 2. Lingvistic competencies and their role in communication. Collocations and idiomatic phrases.
- 3. Teaching vocabulary - selection and possible representations. Cohesive devices in academic texts.
- 4. Practising and recycling vocabulary. Articles and determiners.
- 5. Teaching pronunciation - teaching methods. Plural in borrowings, their pronunciation.

- Teaching methods
- The course of Practical Language 3A-C1 provides students with an opportunity to further develop their language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) in a strictly interactive format, such as group discussions, language practice, written seminar papers, learning videos and presentations. The course makes it possible for the students to experience varied techniques and methods of foreign language learning. Work in class is organised in learning centres facilitated both by the teacher and students. Students are requested to secure good internet connection in order to participate in online lessons as indicated in the schedule. Students must attend these meetings with both the sound and camera on.
- Assessment methods
- Continuous assessment consists of active participation in learning centres, regular contributions to discussion forums, and work with online materials. The course is concluded by an exam where students demonstrate their ability of thorough analysis of a teaching portfolio.
