- Course objectives
- The course sets the target to introduce students with principles of academic legal texts and professional techniques. The course also introduces students to academic ethics and correct principles of adopted information quotation in own texts.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students should be able to: a) prepare and write expert legal text (letter, submission, judgement, assessment, memorandum); b) put into practice the basic methods of academic writing; c) understand the legal and ethical requirements imposed on scientific texts; d) make and present reasoned decisions.
- Syllabus
- 1. Specifics of legal documents (letter, submission, judgement, assessment, memorandum). 2. Searching for information and critical thinking. 3. Coherence of the texts and its means, composition. 4. Academic writing 5. Language difficulties of legal texts. 6. Formal editing of documents (standard, typography, etc.) 7. Basics of legal argumentation. 8. References, citations, types of bibliographic formats. 9. Work organization. 10. Professionalism and professional ethics.

- Request: the fulfilment exercises in IS. To finish successfully, passing the written exam is required. Students must correctly answer at least 60 % of all questions.
