- Goals:
- describe the processes of production of certain chemicals,
- consider and justify some pros and cons of selected chemical technologies,
- They will know some interesting historical facts related to the production of chemicals and they will be able to use them in a suitable motivational way while teaching. - Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course the students will be able to:

- Week 1: Oil, coal and natural gas. Processing and its impact on the environment and humans.
- Week 2: Water, water treatment technology. Wastewater treatment.
- Week 3: Production of ammonia and nitric acid, and its impact on the environment and human.
- Week 4: Sulfuric acid production and its impact on the environment and human.
- Week 5: Silicate industry and its impact on the environment and human. Processing of limestone and its impact on the environment and human.
- Week 6: Production of sodium hydroxide and its impact on the environment and human.
- Week 7: Production of soda and its impact on the environment and human.
- 8th and 9th week: Production of technically important metals and its impact on the environment and human.
- Week 10: Production of technically important gases.
- Week 11: Production of methanol and ethanol. Beer Production.
