- Course objectives
- Presentation of basic literary analytical methods, analyze short narratives based on various analytical methods, think critically about the analyzed texts and possibly compare the texts with other short narratives - comparative literature analysis.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students should be able to: - to categorize short stories and describe them structurally - be able to approach short literary texts analytically, - to understand Prague's German literature not only clichéd (as a fantastic literature of the "magic Prague"). We will read and analyze mainly texts from the 20.-21. centuries, with the aim of presenting recent German literature.
- Syllabus
- We will be German short stories from the 20th to the 21st Century read, from Kafka to Kant and Süsskind to Dörrie and others. There is no uniform topic, the goal is a short German narrative of the 20th-21st To present sections of the century, to recognize various (typical author's) spellings based on short stories and to acquire literary-analytical processes.

- Seminar: compulsory reading, discussion.

- For 2 ECTS point: reading, submitted responses to questions on reading, regular attendance, discussions in class For 4 ECTS points: additional essay
