- Cíle předmětu
- The course focuses on theories that discuss the globality of the world and the possibilities of social justice. What is social justice and how it is relevant to international/global education? This course will seek to untangle the issues surrounding social justice and global education. The course offers students a chance to take a critical look at the role of education and their own place as scholars in the field of global education.
- Výstupy z učení
- Students will be able to identify the characteristics of the contemporary world with a focus on structural inequalities and global justice. Students will be able to identify and describe different global and local manifestations of culture and discern cultural complexities. Students will be able to critically analyze their own cultural norms and biases and describe how these affect their world-view. Students will be able to draw upon personal experiences and class learning to develop common ground for interactions with others. Students will be able to identify, describe, and analyze important social issues from multiple cultural perspectives. Students will be able to engage with diverse groups of people and be sensitive to local and global cultures. Students will be able to identify and describe how power, positionality, privilege, structural injustice, and other socio-structural factors impact their life.
