Course objectives
The aim of this course is to provide students with a means for developing and extending their use of English with particular emphasis on English related to teaching. It focuses on the English needed in the classroom, for studying the EFL teaching and learning, for participating in teacher development and teacher-training courses, conferences, workshops etc. The framework of the course is based upon a book called Keynote Proficient (published by National Geographic). At the end of this course, students should have practised and improved their classroom language and they should be able to interpret materials in English for professional development of teachers.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course, the student will: be able to discuss a wide range of topics connected to teaching, be able to read and analyse news articles related to teaching, be able to share their experiences with classmates and give advice on problematic issues in their teaching, pass a test at C1 level.

Teaching methods
There will be seminar groups in which students will participate in pair-work, group-work and whole class-work. They will give a presentation and complete tasks for homework through Interaktivni osnova in IS and in the coursebook. In their presentation and in their forum entries they will be expected to reflect on issues observed in their teaching practice.
Assessment methods
Completion prerequisites: - active participation in seminars, contribution and preparation; - seminar presentation on a selected topic; - online discussion forums; - final test Teaching methods: - work with texts; vocabulary, grammar, skills and listening practice based on the textbook; - class discussion over the topics on the syllabus; - students presentations and related discussion; - homework - study of Internet sources.
