- Course objectives
- THE COURSE IS OPENED TO ALL MU STUDENTS The aim of the subject is students to understand the close relationship between social reality and the structure of organized education. To understood contemporary problems of education as a disproportion between the reality and the structure.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course the students will: • understand the principle of institution and distinguish between an institution and an organization • understand historical background of institutions • realize that school and family are dynamic processes in their relation to changes of social conditions • understand the influence of globalization in the process of knowledge reproduction

- 1. Modernism and institution, late modernism and institutions 2. Changes in family forms and functions in 20th and 21st century 3. Changes in school functions: school as a mean of national homogenization and school as homogenization based on nationality 4. Changes in school functions: globalization challenge, new ethnicization of school 5. Transmitting of education and globalization challenge: school in 21st century 6. Ethnicization and universalism in institutions of socialization and education 7. Transmitting of cultural capital and contemporary society
