- there are 7 fields of study the course is directly associated with, display
- Course objectives
- The goal of the course is to expand knowledge from physics about environmental overlaps and develop the skill to perform practical measurements and experiments at the university level. Emphasis is placed on the application of scientific research methods from the design of the experiment to its execution, evaluation and presentation of the results. The student performs selected practical measurements independently or in a team. Practical tasks are included in the laboratories, with an emphasis on the relationship of the material being discussed to practice, nature, technical applications, etc.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student should know and be able to: • Theoretical foundations of physical phenomena and practical measurements. • Labor safety rules in the laboratory. • The student can independently or in a team perform practical measurements, process data, evaluate and interpret the results.
- Syllabus
- Within the course, selected tasks from the given offer will be implemented: 1. Monitoring of photosynthesis (verification of the process of photosynthesis and respiration of plants) • 2. Evaporation measurement (experimental verification of the physical conditions of evaporation - how the rate of water evaporation depends on sunlight, temperature, wind, air humidity etc.) • 3. Water vapor in the atmosphere, the greenhouse effect, measurement with an IR thermometer • 4. Laboratory verification of the radiation law • 5. Measurement of the "solar constant", measurement of the spectral composition of solar radiation • 6. Measurement of the power of solar cookers • 7. Measurement of light pollution • 8. Measurement of atmospheric turbidity • 9. Pyrolysis, experiments with a wood-gas stove • 10. Measurement of combustion products with a flue gas analyzer • 11. Measurement of liquid turbidity • 12. Basics of working with a MALDI mass spectrometer
