Course objectives
After completing the course, students are able to understand and apply in practice the basic elements of technique and methodology of skating training for children.
Learning outcomes
The student understands, explains and applies in practice the knowledge from physical education in the field of basic skating. He/she will be able to use the acquired knowledge and skills in the development of physical abilities and skills of children of younger school age.
Syllabus
  • Introduction, safety and organization of basic skating. Methodology of basic skating training for children, injury barrier. Basic practical training focusing on forward and backward skating, stopping, cornering and turning. Games on ice.

The elective course ITVZB Basics of Skating is a supplement to the compulsory courses ITVp051 and ITVk051 Basics of Swimming and Skating. The organisation of the course is specified before the start of the course according to the number of enrolled students.
