- JVp019 English for Soc. Educators – A
Pass in JVp019 course. The JVp020 course represents a B1/B1+ CEFR level course in intermediate English for specific purposes. The course consists of two basic components:
i) grammar at the B1/B1+ CEFR level which is mainly explained using the examples of the general or general academic English language,
ii) specific vocabulary related to the disciplinary/topic orientation of the course in question. Emphasis is put on four language skills, speaking and writing as well as listening and reading comprehension. - Course Enrolment Limitations

- Course objectives
- 1) Increase students' language skills and systems to achieve B1/B1+ level of the CEFR.
2) Further develop students' academic and professional skills (teaching a lesson about social pedagogy, writing a professionally, working with vocabulary) - Learning outcomes
- By the end of the course, the student will be able to:
- understand spoken and written social pedagogical texts at B1/B1+ level of the CEFR;
- successfully participate in a spoken interaction dealing with relevant social pedagogical issues at B1/B1+ level of the CEFR;
- give a mini-lesson on a specialist topic;
- use selected specialist terminology with natural and sophisticated control;
- show a good command of select grammar structures at B1 level of the CEFR. - Syllabus
- The multidisciplinary focus of social education is reflected in topic-based orientation of the individual courses taught at the Faculty of Education. This course (B) is geared towards a range of social issues, including:
- Controversial issues and transformative education
- The elderly
- Immigration and working with displaced people

- Working with vulnerable groups

- Online activities of reading, writing, listening along with quizzes and games are the preparation work for the classroom sessions. Classroom sessions include completing projects in teams which use and practice the language already learnt from the online preparation activities.
