Course objectives
The course introduces educators to the theoretical and theoretical-methodological foundations important for the personality formation of the individual, it is focused on the formation of the foundations of educational competences. In this sense, it is crucial to reflect specific personal, psycho-pedagogical, communicative competences as well as the foundations for specific management, counselling and consultative competences. Participants acquire the basic knowledge and skills that will enable them to build quality relationships in relation to their chosen target group. They will focus on the specifics of communication in terms of non-violent and respectful education; they will learn the methodology to provide support to students in teaching and preparing for class.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
understand topics related to educational theory
understand topics related to the practice of education
understand the topics related to educational methodology to create a simple educational concept for a multi-day event (school in nature, camp, course, etc.)
create a set of games in relation to the development of specific cognitive processes, areas of personality development
design specific educational strategies for pupils from different cultural backgrounds, social disadvantages, etc.
to describe the processes that lead to the exclusion of children (pupils) from their natural social environment (e.g. classroom, parties, family, etc.) and to propose preventive measures
work with the theme of values in the process of education and training
characterise the importance of multicultural education in the school environment
Syllabus
  • 1. Education (concept, features, functions, goals, components, principles, forms, factors of education); educational process.
  • 2. Pedagogical influence on pupils; socialization process; formation of attitudes of the teacher towards pupils; pedagogical work with social groups; authority; education for prosocial behaviour.
  • 3. General socio-psychological professional skills of a pedagogue, personal and qualification prerequisites of pedagogical profession, self-reflection, self-knowledge, self-assessment and self-education.
  • 4. Principles of pedagogical communication, blocks in communication. Communication rules. Conflicts and their management; feedback. Non-violent communication - observation, needs, feelings of pleading. Self-reflection in communication (teacher - pupil, teacher - parent, teacher - teacher).

Teaching methods
Lectures, discussions, sharing outputs, group work, exercises. Solution of model situations and self-reflection of own experience. Feedback will be given to the participant during the study.
Assessment methods
During the seminar, students will perform continuous tasks and their independent work will be evaluated. The assignments will be specified by the instructor.
