Course objectives
The aim of the course is to give to students relevant knowledge about basic skin diseases, diagnostics and therapy options in practice. Ways of communicating with patients, diagnosis options and choosing a suitable product - cosmetic or medicinal - will be presented here.
Learning outcomes
After attending the course, the student will be able to:
- conduct a conversation with a client/patient
- apply knowledge and skill in diagnosis of skin and skin diseses
- apply knowledge of medicinal and cosmetic products when counselling clients/patients
- apply knowledge of adverse drug effects manifested on the skin
Syllabus
  • - Basic rules of professional interview and communication with the client/patient. Patient psychology.
  • - Advice - specifics of skin care according to the patient's age. Infants, children, acneic skin, wrinkles, skin care for seniors.
  • - Phototoxic effects of xenobiotics, pharmaceuticals and herbal drugs. Wound healing, scar care.
  • - Care of teeth and oral cavity.
  • - Skin infection, viral infection.
  • - Hair and nail care. Medical cannabis and its practical application.
  • - Allergies, atopic skin care, skin care for patients with specific diseases (oncology, psoriasis...).
