Course objectives
Modern toxicology is an interdisciplinary field of science that studies interactions between xenobiotics and a living organism leading to its damage or extinction. The subject is based on a number of disciplines that were taught in the previous years of study. Emphasis is placed on areas relevant to cosmetology.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to define the subject of Toxicology and orient themselves in basic toxicological terms. The student has an overview of toxicologically important inorganic, organic, and natural substances, focusing on substances used in cosmetics and their associated risks. They are familiar with the relevant legislation and have a basic understanding of testing methods for hazardous substances' hazardous properties.
Syllabus

  • - Toxicologically significant substances used in the production of cosmetics.
  • - Toxicologically significant inorganic substances.
  • - Toxicologically significant organic substances.
  • - Pesticides and their residues in food, ecotoxicology.
