- Basic knowledge of general and special pathophysiology, biochemistry and pathobiochemistry.

- Course objectives
- Aims: Basic aim of education in Pathological anatomy is to familiarise students with basic relationship and reflective knowledge between therapy of diseases and its morphological sight and manifestation.
Contentual focus: Together with Pathophysiology it enables students to understand comprehensive aetiopathogenesis of diseases and therapy options on different development stages and organs insult reversibility. - Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will be able to: describe the pathology of major organs and organ systems - recognize macro and microscopic symptoms of diseases - interpret the results of the examination.
- Syllabus
- General pathology:
1. Scope of the field, basic definitions and terms.
2. Inflammation. Pathological immunity.
3. General oncology.
Special pathology.
4. Cardiovascular system.
5. Respiratory system.
6. Selected chapters from the pathology of the digestive system, kidneys, endocrinology and the nervous system.

- Teaching methods
- Lectures, seminars, exercises, exercises in selected examination techniques, acquired data analysis, consultations. Teaching will take place online until the epidemiological situation is eased. Lectures will usually be available asynchronously with the online availability of the teacher. Exercises will usually take place synchronously. The method of teaching is decided by the relevant teacher with the consent of the subject guarantor.
- Assessment methods
- To gain the credit, it is necessary 100% participation in the exercises and fulfillment of the assignment of the exercise. The teacher decides the fulfillment of the obligations arising from the exercises. A seminar work on given topics or a written test can be assigned. Completion of the course - oral exam. Students randomly choose three questions from three areas. It is necessary to answer all three questions. Questions are available in the Teams of the course.
