- Course objectives (in Czech)
- 3D printing is gaining attention as the manufacturing tool not only in the engineering industry but also in the field of pharmacy. This intensive course aims to introduce students to different types of 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLA, SSE) with respect to possible uses in pharmacy, mainly pharmaceutical technology. Each module comprises of theoretical base followed by practical preparation of selected drug dosage form and its evaluation.
- Learning outcomes (in Czech)
- At the end of the course students will:
- be able to create and prepare simple models for printing;
- have the knowledge about general workflow in 3D printing;
- know the differences between selected printing methods and know their strong and weak sides with respect to pharmaceutics;
- have the overview knowledge of current trends in pharmaceutical 3D printing - Syllabus (in Czech)
- Basic principles of 3D printing, workflow, input data and software preparation
- SSE printing of drug dosage forms
- SLA printing of drug dosage forms
- FDM printing of drug dosage forms
- Inkjet printing of pharmaceuticals
- FDM and SLA printing hacks for easier and efficient lab life
- Teaching methods (in Czech)
- Classes will take place usually in the morning, followed by practical classroom in the afternoons. Each day should cover one of the selected printing technologies.
