Basic orientation in medieval and early modern history and basic knowledge of Latin and German are welcome.

Course objectives
The course is especially useful to those who are interested in medieval and early modern archaeology. At the end, students should understand the most important terms in auxiliary historical sciences and should be able to work with monographs and articles in historical auxiliary sciences. They will also learn to interpret written historical sources.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course, students will be able:
- to understand the methods of auxiliary historical sciences and their limits;
- to work with the papers and monographs in auxiliary historical sciences;
- to understand the limits of interpretation of the written sources.
