Course objectives
Reading and interpreting of authentic Lithuanian texts. At the end of the course students should be able to: - understand main differences between common Lithuanian and it's dialects (e. g. differences between Valančius' Lithuanian and Baranauskas' Lithuanian) - interpret basic texts of the Lithuanian classical literature.

  • Lithuanian prose: Valančius, Kreve, Biliunas, Beresnevičius, Kunčinas, Gavelis. Lithuanian poetry: Maironis, Radauskas, Aistis, Parulskis. Lithuanian essay: Radvilavičiute, Navakas, Parulskis.
