- The students' level of oral and written Mandarin Chinese should be intermediate or higher.

- Course objectives
- The students will present in Chinese texts and videos they will have read or watched before the class. A discussion based on the presentation will follow.
- Learning outcomes
- By the end of the course the students should be able to present and discuss in Chinese cultural, social, political and economic subjects.
- Syllabus
- Part of the texts and videos will be provided by the teacher, and part of them will be selected by the students. The topics will include world and Chinese/Taiwanese cultural, social, political, economic news, media articles and videos, essays and films.
- Teaching methods
- The students will prepare their individual homework before each class: read a text or watch a video in Chinese and prepare a ppt presentation for talking in class. Each presentation will be discussed by the other students and the teacher. The teacher will provide a vocabulary list for a small revision test during the next class.
- Assessment methods
- Presentations and tests in class will be the main part of the assessment (70%). The final test (30%) will include the vocabulary on the topics covered during the semester and a final presentation.
