Course objectives
The main objectives of the course are the following: • making students aware of basic of museum communication and graphic design in museum practice • editing of posters, invitation cards, guidebooks, workingsheets, exhibition panels • avoiding frequent mistakes • preparing basis for graphic design a DTP layout • using of graphic design pc programms
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, a student will be able to:
- apply basics of museum communication and graphic design in museum practice
- design a layout of own graphic design on usually used materials to museum exhibition or educational programm
Syllabus
  • Theory of visual communication – basic rules, examples
  • How to design – art and graphic thinking
  • Graphic design – basics of typography, composition, color scheme, work with pictorial material (pictures, illustration, graphs…)
  • Practical exercises – layout of own graphic design on chosen topic (posters, invitation cards, guidebooks, workingsheets), experimentation in graphic design
