- The lectures of the course shall make the students familiar with advanced principles of management in museum organisations/enterprises and implementation of appropriate training techniques and case studies, and prepare them for future successful management practice in a memory institution by supervising their individual work.
- Learning outcomes
- After completion of the course, the student will be able to: manage at lower and medium levels the characteristic segments of organisational structures in museum organisations/enterprises.
- Syllabus
- Museum as an organisation/enterprise. Strategic management of museums (including the implementation of methods of strategic analysis, principles of building a brand/product identity and communication strategy). Operations management (including the financial management, project and processual management). Human resource management. Management of specific areas of museum activities (collection management, science and research management, security management, management of cultural-creative branches). Performance management (including controlling and statistics). Change management and management of innovations in the memory segment of the quaternary sector. Case studies – good practice examples.
