- Course objectives
- Provide students with basic knowledge of medical terminology in German. Develop the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare personnel in a German-speaking environment. Improve students' skills in reading and understanding medical literature in German. Prepare students for practical situations in clinical practice through role-playing and simulated scenarios. Enable students to understand and correctly use the German language in the context of medical documentation and administration.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will be able to use basic medical terminology in German. Students will be able to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare personnel in a German-speaking environment. Students will be able to read and understand medical literature in German. Students will be prepared for practical situations in clinical practice through role-playing and simulated scenarios. Students will be able to understand and correctly use the German language in the context of medical documentation and administration.

- 1. Introduction to German for Medicine Introduction to the specifics of the German healthcare system Basic grammar and vocabulary 2. Medical Terminology Basic medical terms and phrases Specific terminology for various medical fields 3. Communication with Patients Conducting medical histories Describing symptoms and diagnoses Informing patients about treatment 4. Communication with Healthcare Personnel Discussing patient cases Coordinating care and teamwork Using technical terms in conversation 5. Reading and Understanding Medical Literature Analyzing medical texts and articles Interpreting research studies and clinical reports 6. Practical Situations in Clinical Practice Role-playing and simulated scenarios Handling common situations in hospitals and clinics 7. Medical Documentation and Administration Filling out forms and documents Making entries in medical records Administrative communication in the hospital

- Assessment methods
- oral examination An individual interview with each student focusing on their ability to communicate in German within the context of medicine. It assesses the use of medical terminology, the ability to engage in dialogue with patients and colleagues. written examination A test focused on grammar, vocabulary, comprehension of texts and medical literature in German, as well as the correct usage of medical terminology.
