Course objectives
Students will achieve knowledge of basements of andragogy and of principles of adults learning generally. They will understand learning program development in adult education and the cycle from training needs analysis to effectiveness evaluation. Students will be able to plan a learning project and use acquired knowledge and competences. Special attention will be focused on the personality of lecturer, learning styles of aduls and in-company education. Students will have the opportunity to discuss with other students and lecturers at seminars and via e-learning forum.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: - analyse educational needs - set learning goals - plan an educational course in all its phases - apply selected techniques to adult education - describe the specifics of adult education - describe the basic factors of the didactic process

  • 1. Didactics of adult education – disciplinary framework, characteristics.
  • 2. Adult education today and its context.
  • 3. Specifics of adult education.
  • 4. Learning styles of adults, motivation and barriers. Individual learner approach.
  • 5. Transfer to life and work situations. Reflexive practice.
  • 6. Development of a course, module, lesson. Structure, objectives, processes.
  • 7. Learner's impact on adult education content and processes (training needs analysis, expectations, evaluation etc.).
  • 8. Planning and realization - methods, forms, didactic process and principles.
  • 9. The role and personality of lecturer.
  • 10. In-company training systems.
