Prerequisites
SOUHLAS
A prerequisite for participation in the seminar is motivation for self-discovery, individual and group work with dreams, and openness within the group. The motivation of the students will be assessed on the basis of the motivational letter that the students provide with the application for course enrollment. A letter of motivation with a maximum length of 1 standard page should take the form of an essay in which the student describes his/her reasons for being interested in the seminar and his/her expectations related to it.

Course objectives
The subject is aimed at gaining personal experience and theoretical knowledge about working with dreams from the point of view of psychotherapeutic directions (Gestalt therapy). The goal is to expand self-knowledge through working with dreams and the ability to share your experiences in front of a group.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will: -be able to better understand the meaning of sleep and dreaming in mental health, -have the experience of own self-discovery, -be able to use practical tools for individual work with dreams, or group work with dreams, - be able to better understand group dynamics and his/her role in it, - be able to use specific materials for further self-development, - be able to use current literature in the given area
Syllabus
  • Sleeping and dreaming. The role of sleep and dreaming in mental health. A historical and contemporary view of dreams. Working with dreams in psychotherapy (mainly Gestalt therapy). Principles of working with a group. Group boundaries and group safety. Working with dreams - specific techniques for individuals. Working with dreams – specific techniques for group work. Art therapy techniques when working with dreams. Movement therapy techniques for working with dreams. Drama therapy for working with dreams. Imagination.
