Course objectives
The lectures characterize on historical and chronological aspect a complex and contradictory literary process. They examine the specifics of the various literary genres (prose, poetry, drama) in their genre diversity.

  • 1. Lyric-romantic ukrainian prose 20.-30. years(J. Janovskyj).
  • 2. Prose of V. Vynnyčenko.
  • 3. Post-revolutionary ukrainian drama (I. Kočerha, O. Kornijčuk).
  • 4. Generation of „Sixtiers“. O. Dovženko.
  • 5. Poetry of "Sixtiers“ (I. Drač. V. Korotyč, V. Symonenko, M. Vinhranovskyj, L. Kostenko).
  • 6. Pioneering tendency of 60. years(Je. Hucalo, V. Drozd, Hryhir Tjutjunyk, V. Ševčuk, J. Ščerbak).
  • 7. Lyric-romantic prose of O. Hončara a M. Stelmacha.
  • 8. Literature of ukrainian emigration 20. century. Diaspora, personality, works.
  • 9. „Prague school“ and her representatives (O. Oles, L. Mosendz, O. Olžyč, O. Teliha, J. Darahan aj.).
  • 10. Symbolistic prose and poetry of V. Barka.
  • 11. Literature of 80.-90. years. Ukrainian postmodernismus: Bu- Ba- Bu ( J. Andruchovyč, V. Neborak, O. Irvanec).
  • 12. Works of J. Andruchovyč.
  • 13. Works of the most interesting present authors ( H. Pahutjak, A. Morhovskyj,V. Koželjanko, O. Zabužko, R. Ivančuk aj.).
