Course objectives
The course comprises revision and practice through written as well as oral exercises (listening exercises, gap-filling exercises, contrastive exercises, etc). By doing these, the ability of students to argue the solutions to particular spelling issues will be examined.
Learning outcomes
Students will acquire the knowledge necessary to write correctly.

  • Principles of Ukrainian spelling Word division Spelling of prefixes Euphony in Ukrainian Soft character Apostrophe Alternation of o, e with i Writing і/і, writing i/i/i in unstressed positions Doubling and lengthening of consonants Simplifying consonant clusters Capitalising the letter Quotation marks

The course has a form of a seminar. Credit: written test.

In the case of a foreign trip or other similar cases, the course can be completed by self-study with sending the completed exercises and then writing a test.
