- Sound Design and Multimedial Technology (programme FF, N-ZVUK_)
- Course objectives
- The course called Video Technology and Multimedia is focused on teaching the general principles of processing of both analog and digital video signals. Attention is paid to technologies of the whole processing chain for capturing, transmission and displaying of digital video signals. There is a detailed description of following items presented to students: principles of colorimetry, basics of optics, principles of optical sensors, displaying principles, digitalization, interfaces for transmission of video signals, image and compression using standard JPEG and MPEG and principles of work with spatial information. Lectures are aimed at presenting the methods and technical means for scanning, display, recording, processing and distributin of analog and, in particular, digital image signals.
- Learning outcomes
- The graduate is able to:
- explain the representation of color lights in various color spaces and compute color coordinates in color mixing,
- describe the properties and the generation of video signal,
- describe basic distortions of optical lenses,
- explain the priciple of operation in image sensors of different types and different displays,
- explain and apply the tools of image, video and audio source codecs,
- explain principles of image data distribution using digital interfaces,
- process the video signal in the video editing software,
- explain the basic principles of capturing, recording and reproduction of 3D video signals. - Syllabus
