- Course objectives
- The subject is appointed for second cycle of one-line psychological study. It makes acquainted with new views on mental health and illness (including of historical point of view), ethiology and dynamics of mental illness. It characterists social factors, shared on global picture of mentall illness (attitudes of public, students and people working in medical professions toward mentally ill people, picture of mentally ill people in literature, film and communication media, family and mentally ill relative), makes acquainted with quality of life concept and with basics on law position of mentally ill people in Czech Republic. Taking part in this subject enrichs previous knowledge from clinical psychology, special psychiatry and social psychology of new point of view about mentall illness. Hand-out is formed for learning in both terms, special emphasis is placed on active students co-operation in seminars, discussing about literature and some thematic excursions.
