Předpokládá se, že studenti z jiných oborů, než psychologie, kteří projeví o tento kurz zájem, budou zejména z řad budoucích učitelů, nejlépe studenti vyšších ročníků, se znalostí základů obecné, případně pedagogické psychologie. Informace, získané v tomto kurzu, budou aplikovatelné zejména ve školské praxi.

Course objectives
This course will examine conceptions and models of giftedness and talent. Specifically, the topics considered will include theories, methods of identification, program and practices of nurturing gifted children and their possible social and emotional problems. Frank and open discussion in both lecture and small group format will be stressed.
Syllabus
  • Historical perspectives of giftedness and talent. Models and conceptions of talent. Identification of gifted in various areas. Programs and practices of nurturing gifted and talented. Possible social and emotional problems of gifted children. Psychological help for gifted. Examples of country efforts and programs for gifted.
