Course objectives
The course will phocus signiphicant personalities, phenomenas, schools and movements involved to the humour typical (also non - typical) for the czech culture of the 20.th century.
Syllabus
  • 1. Terminology, interpretation apparatus 2. Hašek; The Party of the Slow Progress in the Bounds of the Law 3. Horror and grotesque (Klíma, Váchal) 4. Osvobozené divadlo (The Liberated Theater) 5. The Cabarets (The Red Seven) 6. Čapeks and Poláčeks critics of the words and phrases The Recesse (the 1930s. - the 1940s) 7. Humour in the works of F. Němec and V. Lacina; explosionalism (the 1950s, artist a graphic artist Vladimír Boudník) 8. T. R. Field; The caricature 9. The Theaters of the Small Forms 10. The lyrics and the grotesque (Macourek, Žáček); the Movement of the Šmidrs (the 50s - the 60s, research of weirdness) 11. The absurd drama; excrementism (the parody of marxism-leninism) 12.
