- Course objectives
- PA survey of the Pontic civilisation and its relations with Central Europe, Pontic and steppes, Central Asia, Siberia. - Eneolithic: domestiacation of horse. - Indo-European quastion . Pre-Cimmerian bronzes, Sabatinovka culture, Hordeevka. - Belozerka culture, Beginnings of the riding., Cimmerians and their style, Their Near Eastern campaigns and their campaigns in the West. The beginnings of Scythian art, Greek colonisation in the Black Sea, Early art of the Scythians, their campaigns, their art as refelcting the impact of the Near East, Siberia and the Ionian arts. Trasition form Archaic to Classical art with the Scythians. The gold age of Scythia: Ateas. The Samatians and their art, other people in Eastern Europe, The art of the phalerae, Bosporean and Pontic kingdoms,Colchis, Black Sea and the Celts, Black Sea and the Romans.

- 1. Pontic and Asian steppes, southern Siberia 2. Eneolithic in the steppes areas. 3. Pre-Cimmerian bronzes, Sabatinovka, Hordeeevka. 4. Beginnings of ridein, Belozerka and central Europe 5. Cimmerian and their art, Asian campaigns 6. Cimmerians, the Balkans and Central Europe 7. The beginnings of the Scythjian art, their cvampaigns. 8. Archaick Scytghian art 9. Scythians and central Europe, transition from Archai to Classical art. 10. Ateas and the apogee of Scythian power 11. The ain royal toms and their date 12. Sarmatian impact in the steppe. 13. Sarmatians and the art of the phalerae, Pontic and Bosporean kingdoms. 14. Black Sea and Rome
