Course objectives
Philosophy of Mind is a philosophical discipline characterized by two broad questions: what is a mental state and what does it take to recognize that somebody has one? The course is offered to the students who want to understand contemporary debates within the analytical philosophy of mind. Our attention will be paid to basic metaphysical issues (from good old fashioned dualism to non-reductive monism), epistemological and methodological issues (from Descartes to Dennett), and influential arguments (from Chinese Room to zombies).

Assessment methods (in Czech)
HODNOCENÍ: Podmínkou dosažení zápočtu je získání alespoň 60%. Potřebná procenta je možné získat z několika zdrojů: přednesení referátu (až 1x 30%) nebo koreferátu (až 2x 15%); smysluplná aktivita na semináři (až 10x 2%); test (až 1x 50%). Je jen na vás, jak požadovaný počet procent získáte, docházka není vyžadována. Explicitně upozorňuji, že zápočet bude udělen za celosemestrální práci, nikoli za absolvování jediného testu: závěrečný test tedy nebude možné psát vícekrát.
