Kurz sleduje proměny křesťanství v Indii v pramenech Západu od legendárního příchodu apoštola Tomáše na Malabárské pobřeží po středověké představy spojované s Indií. V navazující části je pozornost věnována metodám, rozvoji a cílům křesťanské misie od příchodu Portugalců až po protestanskou misii v 18. stol. Závěr kurzu je zaměřen na současné problémy křesťanů v prostředí sílícího hinduistického nacionalismu.
