- Určeno pro studenty, kteří již absolvovali zkoušku z teorie literatury. Tento předpoklad platí pouze pro studenty české literatury. Podmínkou není absolvování Teorie filmové adaptace.

- Course objectives
- The course deals with the relationships between literary and film works. Thorough interpretation of a literary work and its film version will constitute the essential part of the seminar. The participants will trace the film adaptative methods, shifts of both meaning and style, differences in narrative techniques and treatment of time, aesthetical structures of the literary text and film, social function of the work etc. Six film-projections will be part of the seminar.
The aims of the course are following:
to introduce main theoretical approaches to the students,
to provide the students with terms from the field of the theory of adaptation,
to teach the students the strategies useful for interpreting selected film adaptations of novels. - Syllabus
- Seminars will focus on these literary and film works:
- Deník venkovského faráře (Georges Bernanos, Robert Bresson),
- Žert (Milan Kundera, Jaromil Jireš),
- Démanty noci (Arnošt Lustig, Jan Němec),
- Pohrdání (Alberto Moravia, Jean-Luc Godard),
- O rodičích a dětech (Emil Hakl, Vladimír Michálek),
- Pornografie (Witold Gombrowicz, Jan Jakub Kolski).
