Course objectives
he presnet European Union is a challange which can be undestood from the point of histroy of European civilisation how it developed from its beginnings, how the Indo-Europeans i)evolved and the conscience of some kind of European identity, composed form the European nations, as they were constituted since the rpehsistory up to modern times. Theprocessus shoudl be discussed and also the present challge)únge of mutual communivations in the Europena uniion and other Europeancountries. The course should bring more undestranding to the identities of our time in Europe and other parts of the contemporary world.

  • 1. Instroduction, how wefeel now. European Union, Council of Europe. Geograohy and Geologiy, climatic situation; the conceipt of Europe 3. Myths of European origins. 4. Indoeuropaen question: prehistory. 5. PFirst European Gold Age - Age of Bronze 6. From mythos to logos, Greek and their neighbours 7. Roans and barbarians 8. Great Migrations period: confrontations with islam and with eastren nioomeds 9. Middle Ages: different christianities: catholics, protestants, orthdopx churches etc. 10. Humanismus and renaissance, reformation 11. Evropa and colonialism - global enlargement of European civilisation. 12. Evrope today: quastion of multiple identity
