- The State Exam consists of oral and written parts. - a defense of a Diploma Thesis or a Minor Thesis acceptation is an inseparable prerequisite of the Exam The State Exam serves to prove that the student: * is capable of a cultivated exposition of a given academic topic, * participates in a discussion and present to-the-point arguments, * and applies his/her knowledge of literature and other sources in a discussion. - required student’s knowledge of: * facts, * basic and advanced methodologies in the field, * literature. - required student’s skills: * ability to formulate theses and claims and support them by an argument, * ability to present a summarized and clearly structured exposition of a given topic, * critical work with academic sources.
