Course objectives
System of Persian grammar. Briefly summary - skills of writing and reading; mostly verbs and nouns; choice of basic vocabulary. At the end of this course, students should be able to: write in farsi; read in farsi; understand the basis of Persian grammar; use the basic vocabulary.
Syllabus
  • System of Persian consonants and vowels. Vocabulary /basic greetings/, writing and reading practice. Syllabe structure, word structure, word stress. Vocabulary /basic personal names/, writing and reading practice. Gender, simple present, negation, interrogation, intonation. Demonstrative pronouns and adjectives. Simple prezent. Numerals. So called genetive "Ezafe". Vocabulary /proper names/, writing and reading practice. The present indicative. Vocabulary /days of week/ writing and reading practice. Negative Infinitive. Vocabulary /antonyms/, writing and reading practice. Using of three types of calendars in Persian. Plural of nouns. So called Arabic plural. Vocabulary practice /toponyms/. Imperative, negative imperative. Question words . Vocabulary praktice /expressions of surprise/. Comparative adjectives. Conjunctios. Vocabulary /abusive words/, writing and reading practice. The future. Repetition.
