Tento kurz si může zapsat každý student, který absolvoval kurzy Praktický sanskrt I-IV bez ohledu na to, zda absolvoval Četbu sanskrtských náboženských textů I, II a III nebo Četbu Bhagavadgíty. Cílem kurzu je umožnit studentům magisterského studia kontinuálně prohlubovat znalosti sanskrtu bez ohledu na jejich aktuální úroveň. V kurzu mohou být pokročilejší studenti dohromady s méně pokročilými. Zároveň student, který je v prvním semestru navazujícího magisterského studia nemusí čekat na vypsání Četby sanskrtských náboženských textů I. Může začít Četbou ... II, III nebo i IV a pokračovat vždy tím kurzem četby, který je vypsán v následujícím semestru nebo v jiném semestru, v němž se bude chtít do Četby znovu zapsat. Pokud tedy nechce absolvovat všechny čtyři kurzy Četby, ale plánuje absolvovat třeba jen dva, může si zapsat jak kurzy Četba I a následně Četba II, tak Četba IV a následně Četba I, nebo třeba Četba II, volný semestr (třeba na studiu v zahraničí) a Četba VI apod. Jinými slovy: pořadová čísla jednotlivých kurzů Četby náboženských textů v sanskrtu neurčují pořadí, v němž si je student musí zapsat!

Course objectives
The course follows the course of Reading of religious texts in Sanskrit III.
At the end of the course the students who enroll the course of Sanskrit reading fo the fist time should be able to:
- interpret with the help of a teacher the form and language of the Sanskrit text;
- demonstrate its recitation;
- analyze with the help of a teacher its gramatical composition;
- formulate with the help of a teacher its proper translation.
Students who have already passed the courses I-III will be able to:
- use the most widespread expressions and gramatical constructions;
- analyze with lesser help of a teacher its gramatical composition;
- formulate with lesser help of a teacher its proper translation.

  • Each seminar consists of a commented reading and translation of a Sanskrit text.

Teaching methods
Co-operative reading and translation, homework - preparation for reading and translation.
Assessment methods
Written exam.
The exam has a form of a translation of a short text in Sanskrit. The exam text is a part of a text which was read during the semester, the use of a dictionary and Sanskrit manual is allowed.
