- Course objectives
- The lecture on various asúpects of the relationship of visual image - in science and art - and mind. Its focus is especially on twofold problem of encoding/decoding mental states in/from visual medium. Students should acquire a comprehensive insight on current conceptualization of the phenomenon of mind and its relations to images.
- Syllabus
- What is mind? Representation of mind: outer and inner images; localisation of mind, iconography of brain; psychoanalytical and biological model of mind; mind and SElf: expresion and identity; gaze and meeting of midns in art work; representation of mental states; reading of mind in art and medicine; emotional and pathological mind; emotional expresion of mind - pathos formula; unconscious mind; art as symptom of colelctive mentality.
