- The absolvents' chances of asserting themselves on the job market will increase, if they can offer experience with organizing cultural events. They will learn about fundraising, Public Relations and culture management while participating on holding the Společná minulost project.

- Course objectives
- The object of the course is to plan and organize lectures, exhibitions and other events, summarized as the Společná minulost project. After drawing up a concept, the students will approach participants and performers, compile the program and undertake the public relations and partially take over the responsibility for the succes of individual events. They will not only get to know personages and institutions from the milieu of the German language and Czech-German relations, but also acquire experinece in the field of fundraising, sponsoring, PR and event management in general. In the theoretical part of the course the students will learn about the past and present of the German speaking population in Brno and the Czech lands as well as this issues entire European context.
- Syllabus
- 1) Theoretical part: the settlement history of German speaking population in the Czech lands and the current relations between Czech republic and its German speaking neighbour countries Practival work: drawing up a concept of the project, allocation of work to be done 2) Th. part: introduction to culture management (planing, fundraising) Pr. work: finalisation of the program and compilation of media plan, public material design proposals, allocation of work to be done 3) Th. part: advertising and PR overview Pr. work: drawing up news releases, participation on events and their co-organisation 4) Evaluation and elaborating of a final report; working out the 2012 core scheme.

- Teaching methods
- The course consists of 2+6+6+4 teaching units. On fridays the theoretical part will take place, on saturdays the practical work. February 25 th 2011, 18.20-19.55; 11. 3., 18.20-19.55 a 12. 3., 10.00-13.15; 15. 4. 18.20-19.55, 16. 4., 10.00-13.15, and the last teaching unit will take place May 21st 10.00-13.15.
