Course objectives
The aim of the seminar is an overview of the history of Romanesque architecture in Bohemia and Moravia, namely in the broader kontext of Central Europe. At the end of the course students should have basic knowledge of fundamental literature, should be aware of the historical kontext and they should also be able to understand and explain regional and general phenomenon of architecture and its decoration. They should be able to recognize different methodological approaches to research in this area not only history of art, but also history, archeology and monument care.

The architecture of Moravia in the „Dark 11th century“ and of the first appanage princes 7. Construction achievements in the time of Vladislav I., Soběslav I. a II. 8. Vladislav II. and his wives as founders and builders 9. The architecture of Moravia in the period of Jindřich Zdík and the end of appanage principalities 10. Teaching methods
The course is taught in the form of lectures, special scholarly excursion will allow practical view on current state of the romanesque architecture in Moravia.
Assessment methods
There will be exam in the form both of the written and visual test.
