- Course objectives
- At the end of the course the students should have knowledge about the film culture in Austria. At the same time they should acquire knowledge about culture and facts about Austria.
- Syllabus
- After an introduction to austrian film culture we will discuss cultural and social aspects taken from the contexts of exemplary austrian films. Furthermore the films are embedded in different aspects of the austrian film culture. We will treat the following subjects: austrian humour, festival culture, agriculture, family and other ways of life, crime Film cultural aspects: "Kabarett" film, literature adaptation, documentary, awarded films, young directors
