- Course objectives
- The lecture is devoted to the development of German literature from the beginning of the 18th Century to Weimar classicism. The objective to teach the students to analyze most reprasentative literary works of the period.
- Syllabus
- Germany at the beginning of the 18th century - political and cultural survey. Classicism - Gottsched and his reforms. Bodmer and Breitinger Sentimentalism, especially Klopstock. Rococco, especially Wieland. Lessing. Sturm und Drang, especially Goethe, Schiller, Herder, Bürger and Lenz. Development of most important genres.
